A nurse will assess your symptoms and vital signs. Patients with the most serious conditions are treated first.
An emergency physician will examine you and determine whether tests or immediate treatment are required.
You may receive medication, diagnostic tests, wound care, monitoring or an emergency procedure.
Depending on your condition, you may be discharged, referred to a specialist or admitted to the hospital.
